About
We are the Hudspeth Family, and we are nestled in the coast range of Tillamook County. We are currently the 4th generation to live, work and call this piece of land home. Originally this farm started out as a homestead in the early 1900s and over the years and generations was transitioned to a small, registered Holstein dairy farm supplying milk to the Tillamook County Creamery Association for over 40 years.
The Holstien herd is gone, but now we have an integrated multispecies farm utilizing regenerative farm practices. We originally started out with a very small herd of cross bred angus. We slowly started building the herd from the calves we raised to ensure we created a herd dynamic we were proud of. This has leading to a herd size that is sustainable for the ground they graze. We raise just enough cattle to have the ability to harvest enough forage from our own ground to not have the need to import from any other farm.
Slowly over the years we have added heritage pigs, freedom ranger chickens and broad breasted turkeys. Each of these animals add different benefits to the farm and providing a wider range of meat options to our local community. We are constantly trying to improve our practices and discover more options to improve and diversify our farm to maximize its productivity without causing negative impacts.
At the end of the day our goal is to create a simple and fulfilling life for our family, leave this piece of land better than we found it and to provide the community with a local, wholesome, healthy and nutritious food for their homes.
"I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives. I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands." – Unknown
